Emmanuel Butare is a Partner and one of the founding Partners of MRB Attorneys. He holds an LLB (Hons) from the National University of Rwanda and an LLM from the University of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He is a Fellow (FCIArb) of the London Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD), as well as a Certificate in Global Arbitration from Hamline School of Law in conjunction with Queen Mary University.
He has worked as an Assistant Lecturer at the Law School of the National University of Rwanda, a Training Officer in the Rwandan Judiciary, and a Principal State Attorney in the Office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Rwanda.
He is a member of the Rwanda Bar Association, the East African Law Society (EALS), the London Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and the Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC). He has served as a Board Member of Prime Insurance, Vice President of EALS, and Chairman of the Insolvency Administrators’ Board in Rwanda. He currently serves as a Director on the Equity Bank Rwanda Board of Directors.
